Natural Gas Dehydration: MEG is utilized in the natural gas industry for the dehydration of natural gas. It is injected into natural gas streams to absorb water vapor, preventing hydrate formation and corrosion in pipelines and processing equipment.

Solvent: Monoethylene glycol is occasionally used as a solvent in various applications, such as in the formulation of paints, coatings, adhesives, and cleaning products. Its solvent properties make it effective for dissolving and dispersing certain substances.

Deicing Fluids: MEG is sometimes used in aircraft deicing fluids due to its ability to lower the freezing point of water. It helps remove ice and frost from aircraft surfaces, ensuring safe takeoffs and landings during winter weather conditions.

Humectant: In cosmetic and personal care products, MEG is used as a humectant to help retain moisture and prevent drying of the skin and hair.
